Description
Indigenous rural women in Cuenca, Ecuador, have designed and handcrafted this Beaded Handmade Turquoise Earring to celebrate their cultural traditions and achieve economic independence.
Locally, these pieces of jewellery are known as “Mullos” or “Chaquiras” (meaning beads in English). In ancient times, its colours, designs and combinations communicated the economic situation or the marital status of those who wore them.
